- to advocate for reception studies as an interdisciplinary enterprise involving Classics and analogous disciplines that study the ancient world;
- to encourage the production and dissemination of knowledge in various venues, e.g. publications, meetings, and curricula;
- to facilitate the participation of people outside of higher education in this enterprise by providing a locus of expertise for consultation.
- to build and maintain a community of established and emerging scholar-teachers.
Committees
Most of the business of AIMS is handled by six standing committees: Website & Social Media, DEI (Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion), Membership & Outreach, Publications, Source Databases, and Professional Development.
